Delhi University’s add on/ short term Courses Gaining Popularity

University of Delhi offers students with an opportunity to pursue add-on courses along with their regular course subjects. Most Delhi University Colleges offer add-on courses in media and communications, photography and foreign languages. Some new add-on courses introduced by Institute of Home Economics are Computer-aided Design, Radio Production and Radio Jockey as well as Certificate programs on Organization and Management of Early Learning Centers. Previously, DU’s Institute of Home Economics offered only a Radio Jockey course which was very much popular. But now this course has been re-designed to make it more production based.

Admission Form

DU Colleges such as Hans Raj College was well as Jesus and Mary College are even offering acting classes to students. Other programs offered at DU colleges as add-on/ short term courses are advertising and marketing communication, photography, mass communication, banking and financial services as well as biotechnology. Many DU colleges are famous for foreign language courses offered by them. Daulat Ram College is known to offer certificate/ diploma/ advanced diploma programs in foreign languages like Spanish, Italian, French, Chinese, Japanese, German and Korean Languages. Other DU colleges like Miranda House, Hindu College, Sri Venkateswara College, Ramjas College and Lady Shri Ram College for Women even offered certificate programs in foreign languages. Another popular DU college, St Stephen’s College, offers part-time certificate programs in foreign languages such as Persian, Urdu and Arabic. The application procedure for these courses closed on 30th June, 2018.

DU colleges are offering these short-term courses so that students are able to develop a broad perspective in many different fields. These courses are also known to add value to a candidate’s performance. Most of DU’s short term/ add-on courses are known to have approximately 30-50 seats. Classes for these courses usually begin from the first or even the second week of August.
